Wow. You can hardly buy a box for that much here. Let alone a whole front cut.

Sounds like a good deal to me.

Forward facing plenum isn't necessary unless you start chasing +300kw.

I know they are necessary, but having 98437589347534895 miles of piping is a laggy pain

but Really?!?! is it that expensive there? The price is for the engine/ trans, wiring and ecu plus other little things like airbox and fan shroud. The importer shop will then sell all the remaining goodies from the clip. (Hood, fenders, bumper lights ect.). Shipping is dealt with by the importer as i presume he shoves it in a container with all the other parts he is going to sell.

I know ive gone on about the rb20/25 back and forth but today I settled on an RB20. Its decided, The deal was just too good to pass up

My Good friend Oliver was building this Z

The deeper he got into the build, it was more apparent that the chassis was junk.

He posted a part out thread and wanted $400 for the rb20det which was refreshed and included, new timing belt, tensioner, rear main seal and new accessories such as alternator. It also has a rear sump pan because it was going into the Z ( I will have to use my old one). But for $700 it included ECU, Harness, MAFS and a Forward Facing Plenum. This was the deal maker, The Plenum was 700 new and in my eyes is a must have purchase.

Anyways Here are some of the trendy pics from the FS Ad

I am going to grab it on the weekend. With the new house and all the work i want to do there, the rb25 build would have taken lots longer. This way i get the car back up and running again sooner and have more money for an upgraded turbo, injectors and other things.

Perhaps everyone on the other side of the planet could educate me on dose pipes...My inner ricer is intrigued.

its just amplified turbo flutter (or thats what it sounds like)

would it be possible to just to run a stiffer blow valve spring so it would just flutter at lower rpm's and release pressure when im ripping.

seriously no one in canada does this.

Pretty much what you said is true. Just need to Block the bov.
It's just a pipe off the turbo that amplifies the compressor surge.

I used to run a 12 psi spring on the bov on my Gtir. So it would only open on full boost and flutter every where else.

If I remember correctly turbosmart do an adjustable one that you screw to make it stiffer.

However.., and don't quote me on this... But I remember reading that skyline bov are open a little at idle. So you may have a rich idle if your running an aftermarket one. Maybe have a read on skylines Australia. There are heaps of gurus on there who know everything.

And keep up the good work.

I use a Turbosmart V-Port ( to atmo' ) BOV and yes to tighten it up you just tighten/srew the top down to stiffen the spring. Having said that too loose on the adjustment can cause the BOV to bleed too early. My Vport is a tight as it goes on my RB25DET with standard Turbo and standard boost and still get the low-down flutter, and it was my tuner that tightened the BOV up whilst on the dyno.
