I always wanted a FD RX7 as a kid, had the money to buy a nice one but bought an Evo instead, still want a FD RX7 and think a RWD car would be more fun even though the Evo is some ways faster and more receptive to mods.

Almost bought a 1970s Citroen DS instead of my XK Falcon back in '05 - $8000, decent condition in green. I regret that somewhat since the DS is one of my most favourite cars ever, but then again if I'd bought the Citroen I'd be regretting not buying the Ford.

Also, around '08 turned down a 1974 Toyota Crown with broken reverse gear for $1200 - ended up getting a ZL Fairlane. That one I most definitely regret.

oooh back in the day was looking at US Muscle cars pre internet

'70 Mercury Cougar with a 390ci, dealer wanted $7K and couldn't wait to unload it - was missing a lot of the interior, no sale.
'69 Pontiac GTO for $15K, a new commo was about the same price, chickened out.

40-series single cab Hilux, 60-series Hilux diffs/gearbox, LX80 2L-TE 2.4TD with a hi-flowed turbo, winch, bullbar, scrub bars, 31x10.5 BF Goodrich M/Ts, front and rear lockers, 2" lift, rust cut out and plated, roof mount spotlight, $4k. Was back in 2009.
Belonged to a mate. Had the money, wasn't interested in a 4x4 at the time, bought a rusty 360ci VJ Valiant instead. It'll likely have been made into teaspoons and Great Wall shitboxes by now, he tipped it on it's lid about 6 months back and reshelled into a 60-series 4-Runner.

Narrowly missed out on a 1977 skyline that was going for $700. Had rego from memory. Really wanted it, so I could a) have something old to restore and b) sit it next to the 77 civic
