They are ADR approved, they're tested and marked with the relevant ADR tag. If they're not then I'm entitled to a full refund because they were advertised by HEL as being completely ADR approved.

While I'd love to the government says no, lol. It'll work fine with a high rise sheet metal intake, but I get what you're saying.

Hehe, maybe in the future when I can afford properly wide wheels and tyres.

I'm aiming for something just like this:

Except with a cowl scoop/bug catcher out the bonnet instead of the open front scoop which wouldn't be legal unless the front was radiused and only ~70mm high

    Fair enough.

That would be awesome but I wouldn't run it without an air filter.

I bought a pair of 595 RS-R's which had done 10km's for cheap.

I'm not sure if I'll run them on the rear so I can actually accelerate or run them on the front so they last a while and I have really good braking. I'm leaning towards having them on the front.

Well I handed in my Engineering thesis on Monday and gave my presentation on Tuesday so now I'm FREE!!! (somewhat)

Also my vintage Mr Gasket scoop arrived today, I just had to throw it on the engine to see what it will look like

So, so good. It's exactly what I was looking for to make the car just that little bit more over the top It's going to be tough to make an intake manifold with decent length runners and yet is not too tall. Those photo's are with the scoop just sitting on the current manifold and it's pretty high up haha.

Well it's been a while since I updated this because tbh not much has been happening. I bought another pair of 595 RS-R's because my original idea of bad tyres on the back turned out to be a VERY bad idea with such low weight and so much power. I had to shell out for the properly good tyres just to make it safer.

The handbrake is all connected and the brakes work amazingly. They have the best pedal feel of any car I've ever driven, it's like pushing on a brick

As for what's happening at the moment well I got sick of the car being all different colours with terrible paint so I'm fixing a few of the larger dents and giving it an all over respray. I want to make a good impression on the engineer so he might go easier on a couple of tiny things which should probably be changed (exhaust has 8mm clearance to frame rail when it should have 10mm, easy to fix but annoying because I'd have to remove it all).

So this is what the car looks like at the moment:

And the panels which have been removed:

You can see one of the guards has been primed and had a bit of sanding done, however it needs another coat and more work.

A trip to VG Auto Paints got me this box of magnificence

I'll be going for a 2-tone finish with the bonnet, windscreen surround, roof and boot in black.

And the lower half of the car will be staying green........ Kawasaki Bright Green

How bright is Kawasaki Bright Green?

    Pretty damn bright haha.

Anyway, that's where the car's at. I'm hoping to have it sprayed next week when the weather is clear. I'll be building a temporary spraybooth from PVC plumbing pipe and plastic drop sheets, DIY as always

Should keep it all black! for that muscle car look when you have the throttle bodies sticking out the bonnet. each to their own though
