    Throttle Roll in Enmore.

    Who is going to this?

MARK Hawwa is bringing motorbike culture from the rocking ’50s to The Vic in Enmore.
Be it their racing heritage, or their Frankenstein approach of cramming oversized engines into undersized frames, the Throttle Roll event organiser said cafe racer bikes have earned their place in history.
“From fashion, music, food and of course, bikes, it’s really exciting to see the scene’s modern day renaissance is not too dissimilar to its humble beginnings and is being embraced by so many young people with a wealth of creativity,” he said.
The free event kicking off on Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11 from noon until late will include more than 70 bikes on display, live music from rockabilly legend Pat Capocci and food which Mr Hawwa has described as Sydney’s best spit roast.
“The Vic’s courtyard is not only an ideal place for great weather but it’s also family and pet friendly,” he said.
Fuelled by a desire for speed, Mr Hawwa said the event will host two premieres on the big screen.
“We’ll have some nice blues and jazz playing for Mother’s Day on Sunday and then at 7pm we’ll have the Australian premier of Stories of Bike which will be followed by the premiere of Why We Ride at 7.30pm,” he said.
If you can’t wait until noon and want kick start the day, Mr Hawwa said he’s organised a ride before heading to the event.
“We’ll be meeting up at 8.30am at Harry’s Pies in Tempe for a ride down south to Stanwell Tops look out and will regroup to head off to the event for a 12pm start,” he said.
If you decide to immerse yourself in the festivities and are unable to ride home, Mr Hawwa said those with a pass will have their bike taken care of.
“We will bring it (the bike) in at the end of the night and secure it overnight. The bike will then be wheeled back out onto the street parking the next day for pick up,” he said.
