Mazda 323 sp20 vs non turbo automatic supra

Hi everyone, I've had my sp20 for four months now (since I got my p plates) it's a alright car, now my mate is getting his p plates in two weeks and he has already bought a non turbo automatic supra (168kw) and he thinks in 1/4 mile he will beat my car. Basically will a sp20 98kw manual beat a non turbo automatic supra 168kw ? What times would they most likely get ?

I'm going to go ahead and say yes. Unless you're an amazing driver, and he's so terrible that he spins them up somehow, and generally ballses it up. Or the auto box is that woeful.

    supra
if your partner EVER say you take turn/intersection/roundabout/corners etc too fast say this...
the faster you go around corners, the less petrol you waste to accelerate back to the speed limit

the auto box of a supra is still pretty high rev friendly if he just floors it so it will beat the mazda 323 regardless of its tranmission. it all comes down to who is driving it and how good they are but with a huge difference in power between the two, it is exactly of what Drifter995 said.

    sp20 does 0-100 in 9.7 seconds (claimed)
the auto supra will be about 8 seconds (my guess as the manual does 6.8 seconds)

    70kw is a big difference

I think the supra, it has a better power to weight ratio. Although many variables exist such as tyres, drivetrain loss, shift points, condition of engine
