madang on pitt st, meat over coals. And they have cass (which isn't that good).

As per Jeffske's Japanese thread thought i would start one on Korean restuarants (would be good to get one going for each major Intl cuisine i reckon!)
Just came back from Se Jeong in Evaline St Campsie. Excellent Kalbi, Bibimbap and Sashimi.....not overly cheap but bloody authentic (what say you Jeff?), they have Cass beer too!![]()
worth a look 8/10.

Yeh I've been there a few times and rate it, usually have the bibimbap (the one in the stone dish/pot) and Kalbi (how can you go wrong with marinated meat)!!
If you haven't been to Madang (cnr of Pitt/Liverpool St although the shop is down an alleyway and can't be seen from the street) I suggest you try it. Probably one of the better Korean places in Sydney and there's always a bit of a wait which is a good sign (unsure if they take bookings but we've never waited longer then 20-30mins when we just turn up without a booking)
Like most Korean restaurants they have the DIY table BBQ which I usually get and the bibimbap (yeh i love it). Depending on your chilli tolerance they have a dish called Fire Chicken (Bbul Duk), I am not sure if they call it fire chicken because it burns your tongue on the way in or the ring on the way out....
And like all Korean restaurants you get unlimited side dishes (if you didnt know, now you do) so if you want more kimchi or anything else just let the waiter know (i think the last time i went we asked 5times, the waiter wasnt pleased though)
if anymore come to mind I will let you know, are you more into the Korean bbq side or the homestyle ?
Is Madang the one opposite sharkies?
Not opposite sharkies, it's on pitt st opposite greenbox. You have to go down this seedy little alley and it's tucked up behind there. It's the best one I've been to in Sydney. You wouldn't know it was there unless someone showed you.
i know where it is now, thanks...always thought why so many koreans go into the lane, there is some karaoke there too? up stairs?
bwaahaha that's where you take your mrs when you're in year 11!
anyone been to the one in North Parramatta, its pretty good, im going there tonight...
Anyone been to Live?? it's in that alley near George St cinemas connecting George St with Kent St.
I love that place.. food is great (I'm not Korean although I have had a lot of home cooked Korean food from friends) and reasonably priced. Nice relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff and the bottles of Soju used to only be $8..but now they're $10.
'Bassim' in Strathfield... It's a DIY BBQ place too.. The kalbi and jebichuri were great there. I've always had a great time there although the service was questionable (most Korean restaurants suck with customer service).
'Live' in the CBD, right next to George St Greater Union cinemas on Albion Lane.. I've been there multiple times and would recommend the budae-jjigae and this prawn-mayo dish. The prawn-dish was quite similar to the chicken-mayo dish thing at Chintaria (Cockle Bay Wharf)
I'm Korean but have still yet to come across a restaurant that really stood out.. Prefer my steak..
went to Live (little alley way next to george st cinemas)
prob the best service i've received from a korean place, counted no less then 10 floor staff outside
3 ppl, $65 total
def going back
