View Full Version : DGR coilovers now available!

17-04-13, 12:59 PM
Hey guys, we are now distributing DGR coilovers in Australia. These coils have grown quite popular in the USA but are yet to get a big name in Australia. That means we can do limited time introductory pricing on full sets from just $1050. Currently the coils are on the SIKKY drift team cars in the States. Over here we are using them on our R31 Skyline, S13, and R33. All the cars are used on the street and track and we are very happy with the capabilities and performance from these coils...not to mention these can get you VERY low!

DGR coilovers are made in Taiwan in their own factory. These coilovers are manufactured to the highest quality, achieved by using the best resources available, such as spherical bearings from KOYO in Japan, top seals from NOK in Japan and fork oil from IP in Italy.

These ARE NOT re-branded coilovers already on the market, they are made by DGR and DGR only makes their own suspension.

The DGR High Performance Suspension is a 30 way double adjustable (damper and rebound) mono-tube design. Most kits comes with a spherical bearing pillow ball upper mount.

Not only are off the shelf kits available but we can also offer you suspension and springs rates as an option for order in basis. Spring rates will be advise to us and we can have them valve the shock to suit.

With a DGR kit, you will immediately notice the construction quality and the durability of the kit. Made of extremely durable Steel and featuring springs that are constructed of SAE-9254 Cold-Wound Steel which are then tested over 500,000 times by compression inspection. With deformation less than 5% and high strength sophisticated surface coating, DGR coilovers are build to endure all conditions.

DGR suspension is backed by 1 year manufacturers warranty.

Here's the run down:
1) 30 way, Double Adjustable (Damper/ Rebound)
2) Mono-Tube Construction
3) Full Height Adjustable
4) Camber Plates* with Koyo spherical top bearings or Aluminum Alloy top hats with high durometer bushings
5) Cold Wound, Heat treated Coils
6) Customizable spring rates, at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE (plan for roughly 14 days for delivery on custom orders)
7) Customized kits are valve matched to the springs
8) DGR Suspension systems are NOT rebadged kits currently on the market.
9) Top spherical bearing is from KOYO in Japan
10) Seals are from NOK in Japan
11) Fork oil is from IP in Italy

hey mate! do you have a full set for a aus delievered R31 skyline?

Sorry no we don't...only the s13 option. Otherwise not many companies make coils specific to Aus R31 because the market is so limited.

Rebuildable/Replacement cartridges available like BC's?

Yes replacements are available.

Hope everyone had a good weekend! One of our customers installed our DGR coils on his FT86. Here's some pics and his review:

"Overall i've found the DGR coilovers i bought from 999 to be excellent value for money. Not only do they look great and have achieved the desired result i was looking for but they have drastically improved the cars handling.

In comparison to stock the car now rides completely flat and body roll is all but eliminated making high speed cornering and initial turn in alot more stable.
The ride is not overly harsh on normal roads however it does tend to suffer in rutted or uneven surfaces. Carpark speed humps are not overly pleasant.

I find however that this is an acceptable trade off for the handling gains and provided you arent running really low profile tyres, it is still comfortable for long distance trips on freeways.

I've heard some members who've installed coilovers talk about an increase in noise from the body of the car as a result of the stiffer suspension but i cant say that i've encountered this yet with these.

I'm really looking forward to taking these to the track next month and seeing how they respond to flat out driving. Definitely a worthwhile investment for those looking for those looking to get nice stance for their 86 and upgrade the handling."

So far we have gotten these coils in for the following cars with great results and tons of positive feedback!

S13 (for R31)
Toyota TA22 Celica

20-05-13, 12:01 PM
I had a set of these in my S13 which I brought in from DGR myself. They were great on the street, not too tough considering the price, they feel alot like BC BR coils. I managed a 1:09 at Wakefield on the cars first day at the track on DGR's.

29-05-13, 12:10 PM
Still doing sweet prices on DGR! Had more customers buy for DC2, Kia Cerato Koup, and BMW 3 series

Been meaning to give Tyler and the boys at 999 a plug.
What more can i say.. fantastic service and support from Tyler.
I bought these earlier this month and installed them at home.

Great entry level coilovers for daily and that extra bit of lowness.
ive set mine to 10/30 clicks and it drives as smooth as stock.

27-08-13, 08:46 PM
I've also purchased a set of coilovers from 999
the service from 999 was fantastic. they answered all my questions, before and after buying the coilovers.

how the coilover feels?
this would be my first set of coilovers so i cannot compare them well to others.
the handling on them is amazing. i put it to max soft and it gives a springy ride, but when i turn up the damper, the handling gets better and body roll is reduced.

however, my front left coilover is squeaking, but yet to inspect to determine where it is coming from. the one thing that disappoints me a lot about these coilovers is the height adjustment.

not to mention these can get you VERY low!
the front can drop about 2 inches and the rear only 1 inch. (further drop can be done by removing up to 2 lock rings - 10mm each ring)

if you do want to buy these and after a good drop, ask for how much it drop first.
it could be just with the celica, the drop for the rear may not be as good as other makes and models

Rear coilovers maxed out

Front coilovers with still more drop available

My best before pic to show stock ride height @ 5 finger gap at the rear

After @ 2.5 finger gap at the rear
